How do I write this? I love mental arithmetic. Ask anyone who’s ever been with me- a classmate, friend, my siblings, et al. I can give a list of fastfood combinations that would fit a certain budget even before the cashier would announce the price, straight to the last centavo. Hahahaha
It’s been frustrating watching all my teams and favorite players lose. Celtics, Team USA, Ferrari, Roger Federer. Yet I still love sports. I want it to be part of my future. Thus, I have a new life plan. After graduation, I will send my resume and application letters to Yahoo Sports, ESPN Star, Inquirer, Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin. Even if it is just part time (if offered to do it full time, no doubt that I’ll take it), I want to fulfill my ambition of being a sportswriter. Please. Hahahahaha
We have two dogs. The older one is Ruffles, a cross between a labrador and dalmatian. She is now 9 months old. When she was 3 months old, she suffered from a virus and was in critical health. Luckily, the good Dr. G was there to save her.

We figured that it was too lonely for her to be alone, so we got a new puppy. She was the most energetic among her siblings, and that’s why my brother and sister chose her. A cute little labrador, she reminded us of Marley from the movie Marley and Me. She was so little, but she never ran out of energy. She also ate a lot, even more than what Ruffles had.

She only turned three months last June 16, so we took her to the vet last Saturday so she could have her anti-rabies shots. She made everyone happy as she kept running around the place. After she was given the shot, the vet told me to have her vaccinated with the booster that would prevent her from contracting certain viruses. She was given the booster, but didn’t react well on the way home. She threw up in her carrier and didn’t have her usual appetite until Sunday. It was only today that I found out that she had blood in her stool yesterday. She passed away this afternoon, and it has been such a devastating loss. We miss her already, but I should just be consoled with the fact that I was able to spend three great months with her. Wherever you are now, Barbie, I hope you’ll be happy and safe. I love you!

Rest well, Barbie! We’ll miss you!:’(
Snow Patrol’s Run is my down-in-the-dumps song. It makes me cry because it’s about being left behind. This song makes me miss Barbie even more. More on that on my next post (because she’s worth it.)

I really don’t follow a lot of fanfics, but I just remembered what series I followed so much that I had to read over some fanfiction sites. So here’s Sakuragi and Haruko, doing something most guys certainly dream to do with their special someone.:)

Foreword by Malcolm Gladwell, written by the Sports Guy himself. I read the introduction and browsed through the book before I realized how I’ve spent the last four years in the wrong course. I want your life, Bill Simmons. This is a great book. I’m going to grab a copy soon.
Noli Me Tangere. Just because it was the first book I downloaded from the iBooks Library. Thank you Project Gutenberg!
For the past few days, I’ve been busy with schoolwork. But it hasn’t kept me away from following the great sports events happening this week.

Less than 24 hours after the conclusion of the loooooongest match ever, fatigue caught up with John Isner and lost straight sets. Play 3 straight days of never-ending tennis with countless aces, I doubt anyone would have a different result.

The biggest whiner in the NBA decided to retire instead of playing the other two years he signed with the Celtics. Hated him back when he was Detroit and saw no point in why the Celtics signed him during the season. He made up for all of those in the playoffs, only to come up short. Sorry Sheed. Adam Morrison 2, Rasheed Wallace 1.

Sports movies: Major League the movie is planning to make a comeback with Charlie Sheen as Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn and Wesley Snipes as Willie Mays Hays! Also, I just realized that Stephen Bartowski (from Chuck) was the lead character from Major League 3.

Lastly, the defending World Cup champions have been ousted. (Why didn’t they make an alternative Cannavaro scene like this in the Nike commercial?) It’s weird that powerhouse teams have found their way to the bottom of the standings. France, Italy and even Cameroon. With the bracket in place, it seems that my team, the United States of America, could pull off their biggest victory in this sport. Luck of the draw will be tested if and when they face Brazil or Spain in the semifinals, but that would also mean a sure spot in the final 2 matches- the battle for third and the final. Wishful thinking, but I’m hoping for the best. Too much heartbreak from the last seasons of the NBA, MLB, even the UAAP (which we’re hosting and will be starting soon!). Hahaha
